For a limited time, Maddy is offering private lessons out of The Ranch, located in Ridgway, CO! Her first private lesson days will take place June 3-4, 2022 from 10 am – 4:30 pm.
A private lesson may be for you if…
- You are looking for hands on guidance with your horse
- You are experiencing issues with your horse that are leaving you feeling stuck OR things with your horse are going smoothly, but you’re not sure how to advance or what else to try and want to experience a deeper connection with your horse
- You feel alienated by mainstream horse training techniques (often being told you’re too “sensitive”) and are looking for training methods that are compassionate and do not rely on force
*Youth students are welcomed! Maddy offers lessons to students who are at least 10 years old. If the student is 16 or younger, they must be accompanied by an adult at all times while at the ranch.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- A 1 hour, one-on-one lesson with Maddy and your horse (Note: 1 horse per slot; if you’d like help with multiple horses, please book a slot for each horse. If you’d like to book multiple slots, you are welcome to do so–no limit!)
- A customized training plan based on your needs & your horse’s, including the option to focus on an approach that is R+ based, R- based, or a hybrid approach
- When Maddy deems appropriate, working with one of the ranch horses to aid your learning and prevent overwhelm (so you can focus first on learning with a horse that knows their stuff before you have to be a trainer!)
- The option to hang out and watch other student’s lessons so we can all learn from each other!
OVERNIGHT
ACCOMMODATIONS
You are welcome to stay at the Ranch! We offer rooms in the cabin, dry camping, and pens for your horse. Options are as follows and can be booked for Thursday, Friday, & Saturday night if desired.
*Early arrival check-in time is Thursday at 5 PM Mountain and late check-out time is Sunday at 11 AM Mountain.
HORSE PEN
- $19 per night
- Round pen panels set up as 12×12 Stall Area
- No shelter or bedding provided
DRY CAMPING
- $28 per night
CABIN ROOMS
- Master Bedroom (King Bed) with Private Bathroom – $112 per night
- Guest Bedroom (Queen Bed) with Shared Bathroom – $97 per night
- Twin Bedroom (Single Twin Bed) with Shared Bathroom – $82 per night
- All rooms have access to the living room with fireplace, kitchen, washer & dryer, and a deck overlooking the mountains.
- Please bring your own food and any other supplies that you may need.

STEP 1: BOOK YOUR LESSON
Select the date, time, and sliding scale lesson fee.
- You’ll be asked to select from the following date & time slots: June 3 & June 4, 10 AM / 11:15 AM / 12:30 PM / 2 PM / 3:15 PM.
- Pay your sliding scale lesson fee. Choose from $50, $150, and $250 based on what you are able to pay. Please note that lesson fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. If you cannot attend, you’re welcome to pass off your lesson to someone else.
STEP 2: BOOK YOUR ACCOMMODATIONS
Book a pen for your horse, dry camping, or a cabin room.
STEP 3: CHECKOUT & CHECK YOUR EMAIL
During checkout, you’ll be asked to answer a few questions so Maddy can customize your lesson experience. Then, check your email to receive your order details email (which will contain your timeslots, reservations, and receipt for your purchase) and an email with the ranch address & directions.
